Collegiate Snowfest
Killington – January 2-12

Sleigh Ride Weekend at Billings Farm & Museum
Woodstock – January 14-16

Discovering Black Vermont
Montpelier – January 16, 2012
The Vermont Historical Society hosts author Elise Guyette who will talk about her book “Discovering Black Vermont: African American Farmers in Hinesburgh 1790-1830. This award-winning book follows the lives of three generations of free blacks. www.vermonthistory.org

Bromely Mountain Turns 75

Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s Farmer’s Night Concert
Montpelier – January 25, 2012
In the main chamber of the beautifully restored Vermont Statehouse, enjoy World-renowned conductor Andrew Massey as he leads the VSO in a program that includes the music of Gluck, Faure, Back and Wagner.  VSO English horn Ann Greenawalt and principal trumpet Mark Emery are featured in Copalnd’s popular Quiet City, and there is a part for the audience in Purcell’s cleaver “Fanasia upon One Note.” www.vso.org

Northern Roots Traditional Music Festival
Brattleboro - January 28
Now in its 5th year the Brattleboro Music Center's annual Northern Roots Festival brings together local and regional musicians representing the best of various northern musical traditions including Irish, Scottish, English, Swedish and French Canadian. Jay Peak Junior Extreme

The Junior Extreme Competition is for skiers and riders 13 and younger (as of 1/1/12). Top 10 finishers will qualify for the four 2012 Ski The East Freeride Tour competitions, including the Jay Peak Extreme Competition, the 4th and final stop right here at Jay Peak on March 17th and 18th. Heritage Winterfest
Smuggler’s Notch – January 28-29
